SANTA MONICA, California- November 15, 2022 – Eventene announces several new indoor mapping services for its eponymous event management system. Customers using Eventene can now add indoor mapping and navigation for their event venues and large indoor spaces. Finding their way around a large event can be overwhelming for guests, especially for new attendees or staff who are unfamiliar with the venues. The new indoor mapping features helps organizations create an enhanced and stress-free event experience for everyone. Besides enhancing the guest experience, providing easier discovery and navigation to sponsors and exhibitors can unlock potential revenue streams for event organizers.
The process of adding indoor mapping for an event venue or any large indoor space involves converting the building measurements and specifications into a digital model including exterior and interior walls, doors, stairs, rooms, and other permanent structures on multiple levels. Once digitized, organizers points of interest items, such desks, tables, large plants, and room labels.
The mapping system can also display moving people or objects, allowing selected individuals and other moveable items (e.g., coffee carts) to be tracked and displayed by the guests. Movement tracking becomes possible by installing indoor positioning technologies, such as beacons, Wi-Fi signals, ultrasound-based, or light-based positioning sensors within the venue.
Organizers can also enable wayfinding, also known as interior navigation, allowing attendees to navigate through the event spaces, guiding them via the fastest or most convenient way to their destination, including options like “avoid stairs”. Many large facilities have a complex infrastructure that can be difficult to navigate without guidance on where to go or where to find different points of interest. Interior navigation can also provide a goldmine of data to the organizers by presenting real-time insights about the events and activities hence making more well-informed decisions.
Any large venue, including but not limited to convention halls, airports, shopping centers, office buildings, sports stadiums, hospitals, and universities can leverage the indoor mapping and navigation capabilities. For events that feature sponsors or exhibitors, dynamic mapping options can also lead to an increase in sponsorship monetization since guests will find it easier to find the sponsors and their products, and also have the option of ‘Find Nearest.’
David Wood, Founder & CEO at Eventene said, “We are always looking for innovative new ways to enhance guest experiences. Indoor mapping and wayfinding provide exciting new capabilities for finding one’s way around a large venue, discovering new sponsors and products, and saving time by observing the shortest lines at entertainment and dining spots.”
